Digital Detox: Offline with Clay
Step away from your screen and create something with your hands. In this 2.5-hour ceramics workshop, you'll learn the core hand-building techniques to shape your own mug, bowl, or sculptural piece from clay. No experience needed! The Clay Centre guides you through the process step by step, in a calm and welcoming studio atmosphere. Conversation cards are on the table to spark connection with fellow makers (entirely optional), and there's always tea, coffee, and something sweet on hand. After the session, your piece stays at the studio to dry, gets fired twice, and is finished with a transparent glaze. You can collect your creation about 3 weeks later. **What's included:** 2.5 hours of guided instruction, all materials and clay, two kiln firings, one or two finished pieces to take home, and unlimited tea, coffee, and snacks. **What to wear:** Put on something warm that can get a bit dirty, the studio can be a little chilly.
Shape your own 3D sculpture
Discover a new material! In this workshop, you’ll dive into the world of sculpture and explore how to bring an idea to life in physical form. You’ll be introduced to the basics of conceptual thinking and learn how to translate your ideas from 2D into 3D. Through a series of small, playful exercises, you’ll gradually develop a sense of shape, space, and material. By the end, you’ll take home your own sculpture, along with new set of skills to keep exploring.
Beginner Tufting workshop Amsterdam
During this hands-on session, you’ll learn the tufting process from start to finish and create your own 45 × 45 cm tufted artwork to take home. Each workshop has a maximum of 4 available spots, allowing for a relaxed pace and a more personal, one to one learning experience. You’ll get plenty of guidance, space to ask questions, and time to fully enjoy the process. Workshop can take between 3-5hrs depending on the design During the workshop, you’ll learn: * Everything you need to know about tufting * How to use tufting gun * Tips on choosing the best materials * How to finish your rug: gluing, backing, and shaving Snacks will be provided to keep your creativity fueled throughout the day!
