xHand-Building Ceramics

No wheel, no problem. This hand-building workshop teaches you to shape ceramics using pinch, coil and slab techniques, the same methods potters used for thousands of years before the wheel.

You will make one or two small pieces, a bowl, a vase or a set of cups, entirely with your hands and a few simple tools. It is slower and more forgiving than throwing, which makes it a great fit if you want a calm afternoon rather than a steep learning curve. Our instructor guides the group through each technique step by step, with room to make the piece your own.

Everything you make gets fired and glazed in-house, ready for pickup a couple of weeks after your session. A relaxed, low-pressure way to spend two hours in the middle of Amsterdam.
