This beginner-friendly day course welcomes everyone who is curious about working with clay. Using fundamental hand-building techniques like coiling and pinching, you'll shape your own ceramic piece from scratch, guided by one-on-one instruction throughout the session. Once your piece is formed, you can colour it the same day using *engobes*. Engobe is a liquid clay slip mixed with natural pigments that are applied to the surface before firing to add texture and earthy colour. It's one of the oldest decorating techniques in ceramics, and a beautiful way to give your piece its own character. After the workshop, your piece will be fired twice in the kiln and is ready to take home approximately 2–3 weeks later.

Discover the art of Kokedama in this workshop led by Fabrizia from Youplant Amsterdam. Kokedama is a Japanese plant technique where a plant’s roots are wrapped in a ball of soil, covered with moss, and secured with string, creating a natural alternative to using a traditional plant pot. The moss ball can be placed on a tray or suspended to create a floating garden effect. It's a simple, space-saving, and visually unique way to display plants indoors. In this workshop, you’ll learn the step-by-step process of making a kokedama, from preparing the soil mixture to wrapping and caring for your plant. No prior experience needed! Just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty! Fabrizia will also provide care tips to keep your kokedama thriving. And of course you get to take home your handmade piece. Feel free to enjoy the terrace and indoor cafe before or after your workshop. We will be serving food and drinks as always!

Join us for a cozy workshop where you'll learn the art of making fresh pasta from scratch, just like an Italian nonna. From flour and eggs to silky dough and hand-cut noodles, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of crafting your own pasta. By the end of the evening, you will be sent home with the fruits of your labor (aka a batch of fresh pasta to enjoy for a late dinner… or dry for another time, as well as one of my favorite pasta sauce recipes!) This workshop includes a full guidance through the process, a portion of pasta dough to take home, and a recipe for both pasta and sauce to recreate the magic. Let’s knead, roll, and cut our way through the night with doughy fingers. This workshop will be guided by Siena Avalon Ciancia.
