About this workshop

Discover the art of Kokedama in this workshop led by Fabrizia from Youplant Amsterdam.

Kokedama is a Japanese plant technique where a plant’s roots are wrapped in a ball of soil, covered with moss, and secured with string, creating a natural alternative to using a traditional plant pot. The moss ball can be placed on a tray or suspended to create a floating garden effect. It's a simple, space-saving, and visually unique way to display plants indoors.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the step-by-step process of making a kokedama, from preparing the soil mixture to wrapping and caring for your plant. No prior experience needed! Just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands a little dirty! Fabrizia will also provide care tips to keep your kokedama thriving. And of course you get to take home your handmade piece.

Feel free to enjoy the terrace and indoor cafe before or after your workshop. We will be serving food and drinks as always!

Stretch & Fold

Stretch & Fold is more than just a yoga studio. Perched on a rooftop in Amsterdam Noord, this beautiful space is built around one idea: community. With down-to-earth teachers, a seasonal café, and a programme that stretches well beyond the mat, it's a place to slow down, bump into people, and reconnect with yourself. Alongside yoga and movement classes, Stretch & Fold hosts creative workshops. Because unwinding comes in many forms.
